Tour Punta Pitt

$220.00

Discover on the Pitt islet a wonderful world of species as interesting as the red-footed boobies on the surface, blue-footed boobies in the sea.

SKU: TUR05. Category:

This trek lasts about 2 hours in the two points, you should wear comfortable shoes for walks because they are mostly volcanic stones. Before the end of the tour, enjoy a time of snorkeling in Pitt Islet, variety of fish, wolves, sea turtles and corals.

The tour departs from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno by boat to the north coast at the most salient end of the island San Cristobal at 1:30 min of navigation and consists of a walk full of adventure, with landscapes from another planet and reaching the top , you will be greeted by blue-footed boobies and red-legged boobies since it is a nesting site where chicks can be observed with their adults.

This is the only place in the Galapagos Islands, where you can see the three species of pikemen and the two species of frigate birds nesting in the same area. The reason why the three species of pikemen are found in Punta Pitt is due to the geographical location; enough food is found so there is no competition between them. Blue-footed boobies nest indoors (rarely on cliffs), red-footed boobies nest on shrubbery and masked nest on cliffs. Another additional attraction is the presence of sea lions.

After the walk we return to the boat to snorkel or dive in the same place where you can see: variety of fish, black tip sharks, turtles and stingrays.

* It is not recommended to go with children from 0 to 2 years old
* Older adults with difficulty walking are not recommended
